Users and Permissions
ErasureLog supports multiple users within the same organisation (tenant). Owners and Admins can invite new users, change their role, and remove them.
Roles
| Role | Description |
|---|---|
| Owner | Full control of the tenant, including billing and licensing. Every tenant must have at least one Owner. |
| Admin | Can manage tenant settings, invite and remove users, and change user roles. Cannot remove or demote the last remaining Owner. |
| User | Standard access for day-to-day use of ErasureLog. |
| Tech | A role intended for operators carrying out erasure/destruction work. |
Only Owners and Admins can invite, edit, or remove users. An Admin cannot grant or remove Owner-level access — only an existing Owner can do that.
Inviting a user
- Go to Settings > Users.
- Select Invite User.
- Enter the email address of the person you want to invite and choose their role.
- Select Send Invitation.
The invited person receives an email with a link to accept the invitation. If they don't already have an ErasureLog account, they'll be asked to create one using the same email address the invitation was sent to.
Invitations expire after 7 days. If an invitation expires, you'll need to send a new one.
The number of users you can invite is limited by your plan. If you're at your seat limit, you'll need to remove an existing user or upgrade your plan before you can invite anyone else. See Plans and Limits.
Pending invitations
Invitations that haven't been accepted yet are listed under Pending Invitations on the Users page. From here you can revoke an invitation before it's accepted.
Changing a user's role
On the Users page, select a new role from the dropdown next to a user's name. You cannot change your own role.
A tenant must always have at least one Owner — you can't demote the last Owner to another role.
Removing a user
Select the delete icon next to a user's name to remove them from the tenant. As with role changes, you can't remove the last remaining Owner — assign another Owner first if you need to remove the current one.
